Long before the Silk Road was dreamed of, the ancient Incense Road stretched north from the Dhofar mountains — carrying frankincense resin across the Arabian Peninsula to the temples of Egypt, Rome, and Persia. For five thousand years, no material was more coveted.

Called luban in Arabic, frankincense burns in the sacred rites of every Abrahamic faith, at the heart of Ayurvedic medicine, and in the daily rituals of Omani homes. It is not a product. It is a living tradition.

Of all frankincense varieties, Omani Hojari stands alone — prized for its exceptional clarity, complex scent, and the purity of its burn. What we source is exactly that. Nothing else.

The Sacred Land

Born in Dhofar,
Carried by the Wind

Dhofar Governorate in southern Oman is the only place on Earth where Boswellia sacra thrives naturally. The annual Khareef monsoon nourishes these trees at elevations above 1,500 metres, producing resin of unmatched clarity. The ancient Frankincense Trail through this region is recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Wild-Harvested Trees

Ancient Boswellia sacra trees — 300 to 500 years old — tapped by hand using the same method practiced since antiquity. Never cultivated. Never hurried.

Khareef Monsoon

The summer monsoon of Dhofar — unique in Arabia — drapes the mountains in mist and rain, feeding the trees that produce the world's most prized resin. Nature's annual gift.

Dhofar Mountains

At altitudes above 1,500 metres, the cooler air and distinct seasons concentrate the trees' essential oils — producing resin of exceptional purity, warmth, and complexity.

Provenance & Quality

Not All Frankincense
Is Equal

The grading of frankincense is an art passed through generations. Hojari — named after the rocky Dhofar terrain — is the pinnacle: silver-green, translucent, high in essential oils, clean-burning, and unmistakable in scent.

Authentic Hojari resin is identifiable by its translucent silver-green colour — almost like sea glass — its perfectly dry surface, and the instant clarity of its burn. No brown, no black, no impurities.

The high terpene and essential oil content of Hojari means a single gram releases more aromatic compounds per burn than cheaper grades. It is not simply better-smelling frankincense. It is a fundamentally different material.

"The finest Hojari tears are as clear as sea glass, as old as prayer."
